ReignDesign is a visual design and new media company based in Shanghai. We create and develop company identities (logo and business materials), websites, advertising materials, and more. We offer comprehensive services and manage projects from concept to delivery.

Maintaining quality. If there are ten potential pitfalls in the quality control process in your home country, there are fifty here, and any one of them could ruin your final product. Experience is the only way to predict and overcome the many small problems that can arise.

Losing time and money to penny-pinchers. A lot of clients and vendors are price-sensitive and competitive to a self-destructive point. They'll substitute inferior materials, cut out crucial elements of the plan, or bargain for useless chips. Learn to identify these types and then avoid them.

Making use of available resources. A lot of foreigners in China bring expectations that people and services should conform to foreign standards exactly. Some methods or options are simply not feasible, but others are available at a fraction of the cost. The best solution requires research, hard work, and a sometimes uncomfortable shift in goal or concept.

Cultivating relationships with employees. Everyone complains about the turnover in China, but employees are too often treated as an afterthought. We pay our employees well, treat them with respect, and make sure they have opportunities to grow professionally. In return, they develop the loyalty and work ethic that we require for our business.

Developing a complete, reliable work process. Though it's felt at times like reinventing a hundred wheels, we've gained the experience and secured the processes required to do high quality work with the resources available. We're able to use Chinese employees and vendors in a way that meets or exceeds western standards while still controlling costs.

Find good people-China has a lot of them. Though it often seems like an ethical no-man's land, many people in China recognize and value integrity. Pay attention to how you can best help others and how they can help you, and then build upon your mutual trust to grow together.
